Upon Arrival

When you arrive in the Netherlands, we accompany you during the appointments. This way you will always have a consultant who shows you the way, and can help you out.

Intake Meeting: You will meet your personal field consultant to discuss the relocation steps.

Welcome Bag: A welcome bag in which you will find a variety of information books and area maps to inform you of the different aspects of life in The Netherlands.

Housing: a consultant familiar with the areas and housing market will consult with you about your housing needs, prepare an agenda for house viewings and can accompany you on the house hunt tour. Once a property is chosen by you we will negotiate the best possible price and contract. We will ensure utilities are set up as well as telephone lines, internet and cable television. A complete inventory and inspection takes place before the client moves in the new home.

Burgerservicenumber (BSN): As soon as possible we will arrange for the application of a social security number. This number is unique for every one in The Netherlands. You need it for instance for opening a bank account or for arranging your health insurance. A 'Burgerservicenumber' used to be called a Sofinumber.

Banking: Assistance with opening a bankaccount and explanation of banking in the Netherlands.

Registration City Hall: Registration at the Citizen Register will be coordinated and the client and family will be accompanied to these offices. We will advise you on the necessary documents you will need to bring.

GP/Dentist: The family will be registered at suitable doctors, dentists and pharmacies in the area where they live. Clinics can also be arranged for babies.

Car Import: Should the client wish to import a car into The Netherlands, help is available to complete the import procedures. From the initial application for import-duty exemption, through to the road inspection and the final import we will assist and accompany at every step.

Insurance: We are able to arrange, through reputable agents, for competative rates of insurance for all types of coverage (car, contents, health, liablility, etc.)

Area Orientation: To familiarize you with facilities, shops etc in the new living area.
